Ambiance | Loraxx
Produced and Edited by Caleb Marshall
The conception of this music video sparked from an overheard conversation. Diego Simonis, a Paris-based music manager, was on the phone with one of his artists. A few seats away, my good friend Vadim Vandenven, our director, was sitting with a book, but he couldn’t ignore the conversation for long. After a few minutes of deciphering the exchange, Vadim decided to introduce himself. Two weeks later, we all gathered at Jaguar Shoes bar, 10 a.m. sharp, to film the music video for Loraxx’s jazz-rap triumph, "Ambiance." Before the first day of shooting, Vadim and I had been bouncing ideas off each other, coming up with just enough for a rough shot list and a basic storyline that included a bar scene and a dream sequence. The entire project? Zero cost. Every member of the team came through with the gear we needed. I pulled the lighting equipment from my uni, John Allerston, our DP, brought his personal BMPC 6K, and Wali, Loraxx himself, scored us the bar location for free, thanks to his connections.

Who is Loraxx?
Loraxx is the type of person who loves to have fun, and you can feel that in every beat of his music. When it comes to his lyrics, he's a romantic at heart. His voice glides effortlessly over laid-back, mellow beats, often diving into stories about his latest encounter with a beautiful woman. He frequently works with artists like Fuex, Teeze, and Lechani. As for his influences? Just mention Kendrick Lamar, and that says everything you need to know.
