This music video had no plan whatsoever. I turned up in Dorset after a hot summer day on the train. As we were walking to the first location, Archie and I came up with the concept and I planned a basic shot list in my head. Over the next three days, we slowly built a narrative to get enough footage for a 5-minute video. It was a lot of fun.
Who are SMUT?
SMUT's music feels like a close friend gently easing your dazed head onto a pillow, and telling you a story after a long night of heavy drinking, hard drugs, and marijuana. The London-based duo—Archie Friend (vocals, guitar), and Billy Fee (producer, drummer)—define their storytelling over a soundtrack of breezy acoustic guitars, dreamy vocals, and warm drum beats. Much of their recording takes place in their university accommodations or at the studios of their current school, The London College of Communication. Their influences include The Smashing Pumpkins, Crowbar and Johnny Cash to name a few.
